In My Father’s House / The Power of a Choice

Easter Sunday at The Hill. From the worship to the Word, the presence of God was undeniable. Our theme this year was simple but deeply personal:

"In My Father’s House."

We explored the well-known parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15—but maybe not in the way many have heard it before.

This wasn’t just a story about a rebellious young man who made mistakes.
It was a story about every single one of us.

At one point in the story, after losing everything and hitting rock bottom, Scripture says something powerful:

“And he came to himself.” (Luke 15:17)

That was the turning point.

The son realized that what the world gave him could never satisfy him.
He remembered the bread in his father’s house.
He remembered that even the servants in his father’s house were better off than he was in the world.

And just like that, we saw it: he had a choice.

The same choice we all have.

The Choice

We can either:

Settle for what the world offers, things that look good for a moment but leave us empty...

Or we can return to the Father’s house, where there is bread that satisfies, love that restores, and grace that covers.

This Easter, we didn’t just celebrate a risen Savior, we responded to a personal invitation.

To come home.
To be filled.
To live again.

The Response

At the end of the message, we were faced with the same choice the son had:
Pig food or a feast?
Scraps or satisfaction?
Isolation or intimacy?

It wasn’t just a parable, it became a mirror.
And many in the room said, “I’m done starving. I’m ready to come home.”

Whether today was your first time hearing that story or the hundredth time, we pray you left reminded of this:

No matter how far you've gone, you can always come home.

There is still room.
There is still bread.
And the Father still wants you.

See you next Sunday as we continue the story and look at the other son, the one who stayed home but still missed the Father’s heart. You won’t want to miss it.
