Outreach From The Hill
This past week, our outreach team from The Hill Church had the honor of partnering with Freedom in Christ, a shelter supporting women in recovery. What started as a heartbreaking situation turned into a beautiful picture of what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, Beyond Sunday.
Freedom in Christ recently suffered a devastating blow. A failing roof and severe water damage destroyed their entire Blessing Closet, a vital space filled with clothing, shoes, and hygiene items meant to support the women they serve. For a shelter that already carries so much on its shoulders, this loss felt overwhelming.
But that’s where the church stepped in.
Our Hill community didn’t just respond, we showed up. Through in-kind donations, prayer, and the love of Jesus, we were able to rebuild what was lost. Together, we gathered clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, and care packages, but most importantly, we brought a sense of hope and reminded each woman that she is seen, valued, and deeply loved.
We had the privilege of hearing their testimonies, raw, powerful, and full of faith. We celebrated recent wins in their recovery journeys, and we cried and prayed with them. It was a moment that reminded us all why we do what we do.
At The Hill, we believe ministry doesn’t end when service does. Our mission is to serve in unexpected places, to walk alongside people in moments of need, and to be the church outside the four walls. This outreach was just that, a powerful reminder that love looks like showing up when it matters most.
To our church family who gave, prayed, and served: thank you. Your generosity helped turn tragedy into testimony.
